Assure, ensure, and insure

Assure, ensure, and insure

Assure is the only one of the three words that means “to reassure someone or to promise.” أكّد  تعهد؛ طمئن

I assure you that the chocolate is fresh.

Ensure chiefly means “to make certain or to guarantee.” ضمن  أكَّد

He must ensure that the effect is eye-popping.

Insure can be interchangeable with ensure in some cases, but it is easiest to keep these words straight by reserving insure for references to insurance. أَمَّنَ

I need to insure my car.

The definitions are different in British English: in Britain, assure can mean “to insure against a loss.”

Rhymes & Fingerplays for Babies, Toddlers, Preschoolers

👫 Rhymes & Fingerplays for Babies, Toddlers, Preschoolers

Fingerplays and rhymes come to life during circle and large group times as preschool children show word meaning through simple actions and finger movements. Preschoolers develop memory and recall skills as they sing and recite the songs and poems in this curriculum resource collection. I have collected the rhymes, fingerplays and songs in this collection during the past 30 years and either don't know or have forgotten many author's names.
